When you visit my website, various personal data is processed. A law applicable to me—the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)—contains specific requirements regarding this. For example, I must inform you about certain things at the time your personal data is collected. That’s exactly what this Privacy Policy is about!

2) Data collection when visiting our website

If you use our website for informational purposes only (i.e., without registering or otherwise transmitting information to us), we only collect the data that your browser transmits to the website server (so-called “server log files”). When you access our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display the website to you:

  • Our visited website
  • Date and time of access
  • Amount of data sent (in bytes)
  • Source/referral from which you reached the site
  • Browser used
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used (if applicable: in anonymized form)

The processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website. The data will not be shared or used for other purposes. However, we reserve the right to check server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.

This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g., orders or inquiries). You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” prefix and the lock symbol in your browser’s address bar.

3) Cookies

To make visiting our website more attractive and to enable certain functions, we use cookies—small text files stored on your device. Some cookies are automatically deleted after closing your browser (“session cookies”), while others remain on your device for a longer period to save settings (“persistent cookies”). You can find the storage duration in your browser’s cookie settings.

If cookies process personal data, this is done in accordance with:

  • Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (to fulfill a contract)
  • Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (if consent has been given)
  • Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (to ensure the best functionality of the website and a user-friendly experience)

You can configure your browser to notify you about cookies, allow them selectively, or block them entirely. Please note that disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website.

4) Contacting Us

When you contact us (e.g., via contact form or email), your personal data will be processed solely for the purpose of handling your request and to the necessary extent.

The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). If your inquiry is related to a contract, an additional legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Your data will be deleted once your inquiry has been fully addressed unless legal retention obligations prevent this.

5) Data Processing for Creating a Customer Account

In accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, personal data is collected and processed when you provide it to us while opening a customer account. The required data fields are specified in the respective form on our website.

You can request the deletion of your customer account at any time by contacting us. After the account is deleted, your data will be removed unless all associated contracts have been fully processed, no legal retention periods prevent deletion, and there is no legitimate interest in continued storage.

6) Use of Customer Data for Direct Marketing

Once unsubscribed, your email address will be deleted from our mailing list unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we are legally permitted to retain it for other purposes, which we will inform you about in this policy.

Advertising via Postal Mail

Based on our legitimate interest in personalized direct marketing, we reserve the right to store your first and last name, postal address, and—if you have provided us with these additional details in the course of our business relationship—your title, academic degree, year of birth, and professional, industry, or business designation pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This information is used to send you interesting offers and information about our products via postal mail.

You can object to the storage and use of your data for this purpose at any time by contacting us.

7) Data Processing for Order Handling

To the extent necessary for contract fulfillment related to delivery and payment, the personal data collected by us is shared with the commissioned transport company and the assigned financial institution pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Your contact details will be strictly used for notifications about required updates and will only be processed by us to the extent necessary for such communications.

To protect our legitimate interest in assessing our customers' creditworthiness, this data is transmitted to Klarna for a credit check pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
